Schools and Groups

GamlaUppsala Museum has an extensive choice of activities, both for schools and booked groups.

Schools

Climb the district court mound, visit the exhibition and listen to museum guides tell of times past and different world conceptions.

How did Sweden become Christian? What exactly is a feudal serf or bondsman? And how does throwing a cloak across your shoulders feel? Gamla Uppsala offers much to ponder, and much to see and experience. School classes are welcome to visit the 1,500 year old royal mounds and explore the exhibition in Gamla Uppsala Museum.

We offer guided tours and interactive programmes. We readily customise our programmes to suit your wishes. Contact us for more information on the various guided alternatives and suggested independent class activities.

Groups

Open year-round for booked groups on agreement. Feel free to start your tour with drinks, standing buffet etc at the Historical Centre, or continue on to nearby restaurant Odinsborg, dating from 1899.

Tours and introductions can be combined with other ventures. Our contacts include musicians, actors, ancient societies and fire artists. We are ready to help you organise a memorable programme of events.
