Interdisciplinary Innovation through Baseline Proficiencies

Stockholm, Sweden, 12-15 March 2014
Hosted by: The Swedish National Heritage Board

Since 2000, four International Architectural Paint Research Conferences have been arranged with participants from the growing number of international APR specialists and the wider conservation community. The conference aims to provide a platform for the interchange of current ideas and knowledge to explore the potential of this discipline in the study and conservation of architectural heritage.

The 5th conference aims to re-examine three important issues;
– the production of a set of standards for APR research,
– the relationship between APR practitioners, commissioning clients and communities,
– the communication of research findings and conservation options to the heritage decision-makers.

Please forward this information to colleagues or organizations who could be interested in participating.

The registration is open until January 31, see link below.

  1. Hullo I was thinking about attending your conference on paint analysis in Stockholm in March. I am an Irish painting and gilding conservator based in Belfast. My friend Karen Van Der Lem, whom I studied with many years ago is attending. I you could send me the relevant information and costings for the seminar, thank you.
