Most of our books can be borrowed via inter-library loan. Search the Vitalis catalogue for the book you are interested in and go to your nearest public library, or your university or college library if you are a student.
Users with a borrower’s card can read some of our electronic resources remotely. Contact the library for further information.
The Swedish National Heritage Board’s own publications are available digitally via the Open archive Samla, as are the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities’ journal Fornvännen and Sveriges runinskrifter.
Photographs – Kulturmiljöbild
Approximately 200 000 of the Swedish National Heritage Board’s images are available online via our photographic database Kulturmiljöbild. The pictures can be searched and downloaded. An ordering function also allows you to order high-resolution image files processed for different purposes.
You can find out about the contents of our collections remotely but to see the material you need to visit us on site. We can answer simple enquiries about the collections or plan for your visit together by e-mail or on the phone. You can search our archive catalogue via Visual Arkiv online. You can also search the archive’s maps and plans collection using the Ritningsregistret search service.
Copies of archive material
We can meet small orders for copies of archive material remotely provided that you are able to provide a clear specification of what you are looking for. We can send copies by e-mail or by post, and will charge a fee in line with the Fee Ordinance, see Copying and scanning
